Originally from North East London, Glynnis lived, studied and worked in the North East from 1967-2000.
In 2000 she moved to the North Pennines. Whilst continuing to work as a teacher she studied part time at Newcastle College, Northumbria University and Sunderland University. In 2004, having gained a BA(Hons) in Fine Art, she gave up teaching and began to paint full time.
Glynnis’ work evokes a sense of landscape. She does not paint specific places but draws inspiration from the wild landscapes of her home environment and places she has visited. Her aim is to make a painting that draws an immediate response but which also has the depth and interest to reward sustained viewing.
